"Not much about music and friendship...

Writer: Sergei MaleevSergei Maleev

As a young child, perched on my dad's lap, I watched him solder, read, and solder again – a process that captivated me. This sparked my interest in radio electronics, set against the backdrop of my father's vintage Grundig ovals and my grandfather's Telefunken receiver. Throughout my school years, I endeavored to enhance the sound of my home system, puzzled by why a humble tube amplifier outperformed my transistor monsters.

Entering university to study Acoustic Devices and Systems, my academic journey coincided with the 'tube renaissance,' and since then, I've remained enamored with tube designs in audio. My professional path led me into production, balancing woodworking and crafting wooden houses. After spending years in audio component sales, I encountered products from various brands, including the unforgettable Audio Note Kondo, a testament to Hiroyashi Kondo's mastery.

Despite audio being a long-standing hobby, my quest for ideal speaker systems led me to Mikhail Urakov and his Woodmonitors. Their incomparable sound transcends any loudspeakers regardless of cost. Mikhail's products not only let you hear the sound but also experience emotions and peer into the soul of the performer.

Equipping my system with Mikhail’s products, the impressive results fueled new ideas. Discovering our shared perception of music, Mikhail and I became friends and, around five years ago, decided to unite our efforts in promoting these unique audio components."
